I was born November 7, 1995 in Stanford, California, the oldest of four brothers (Dakota, Colt, and Scout). We all played ice hockey for the San Jose Jr. Sharks and competitive amateur golf.
I attended Stanford University from 2013-2017, earning a degree in Management Science and Engineering. While at Stanford, I set the school record for career scoring average (70.13), tied the school record for the number of individual wins (11), and spent 47 weeks as the world’s top-ranked amateur golfer. I also won the Fred Haskins, Ben Hogan, and Jack Nicklaus awards as collegiate player of the year, the Mark McCormack Medal as the world’s #1 amateur and the Byron Nelson award for golf, academics, and community service.
In 2017 I made my professional debut at the Safeway Open. I earned my PGA Tour card on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019, and made three top-10s on the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season en route to finishing 68th in the FedEx Cup standings.
My name is Brandon Wu and I’m from Scarsdale New York. I have been playing golf since I was a little kid, and now, I’m chasing my dreams as a professional. Two of my passions in life are education and sports, and I am constantly looking for ways to combine the two.
I started playing golf when I was about 7 years old. I played my college golf at Stanford, finishing 4th in Career Scoring Average at Stanford behind Maverick McNealy, Patrick Rodgers, and Tiger Woods, and culminating with an NCAA Championship my senior year. In 2019, I became the first amateur to qualify for the US Open and Open Championship since 1967! I missed my Stanford graduation to play the final round at the US Open received my diploma at Pebble Beach. I also won a team Gold Medal for Team USA at the Pan Am Games that summer, and was a part of the victorious US Walker Cup Team.
My family instilled the importance of education in me at a young age and I want to help all kids have access to the same academic opportunities I had, so everyone of them will be able to find their own passions.
